Obstetrics
The OB in OBGYN is obstetrics and deals with any of the stages of childbirth, from care of the mother during pregnancy, to the unborn child, labor and delivery, and time immediately following the birth. The obstetrician is vital to the prenatal care process, and is instrumental in making certain there is no complications during birth process, either in labor or delivery – and to step in and help if something were to be amiss. The obstetrician is there to help the mother and baby transition to daily life the best way possible for each individual parent and child.
Gynecology
Caring for all of a woman’s reproductive health and issues, the GYN in OBGYN, is gynecology, and that covers all ailments a woman might experience in the uterus, fallopian tubes, cervix, ovaries and vagina, during her life, whether during childbearing years or past menopause. The surgeons at Nirmal Neurocare are highly skilled and certified in their fields.
The gynecological surgeon can perform many types of surgical interventions, here are a few:
- Tubal ligation – a permanent form of birth control
- Hysterectomy- removal of the uterus
- Oophorectomy – removal of the ovaries
- Salpingectomy – removal of the fallopian tubes
- Cone biopsy -remove precancerous cells in the cervix identified during a pap test

One day I happened to read a Nirmal Hospital brochure. We brought to the issue to Dr. Adhav, who suggested a surgery. It was a complex operation, but with the skilled doctor’s help, she was able to open her mouth and soon was speaking well. We owe it all the credit to the Nirmal Hospital.
My foot was broken in an accident, with little hope of recovery. Dr Adhav and Dr. Ramesh Kurunkar believed they could help. It took four months but the recovery was complete and I am now walking normally. All the credit goes to Nirmal Hospital, I will remember them forever.
